World Afro Day 2024

This years Afro Day was full of anticipation and activity!

KS2 “hair models”; Nevaeh in year 5 and Melita in year 3 had their afro hair styled into space buns and cornrows by “hairstylists” Val and Marie, during our special assemblies, much to the delight of their peers.

The Oscar winning animation “Hair Love” enthralled all key stages, and KS1 later enjoyed activities linked to the film in their classes.

Workshops discussing the importance of the day and products and techniques for styling afro hair had the year 5/6 children eager to ask many questions and share their experiences.
