We are a Free Breakfast Club Champion School

Deptford Park has been selected by the Department for Education to be a Free Breakfast Club Champion School. This means the school will be supporting other schools to open free breakfast clubs, delivering training and offering advice to school leaders across the country.

We had breakfast with the Education Secretary!

Our children were invited to visit the Department for Education (DfE) in Westminster to go to the DfE’s first free breakfast club. The children and staff met with Bridget Phillipson, the Secretary of State for Education, and shared their thoughts on why free breakfast clubs are so important.

You can see our children interviewing the Secretary of State here and talking about our breakfast club here.

The children also enjoyed a tour of the Houses of Parliament and interviewed a civil servant to find out more about their job.

Deptford Park’s SLD Unit opens

We’re very excited to announce that our first class began school today (1st June 2026) at Deptford Park in our unit for children with Severe Learning Difficulties. Our next cohort of children will join the school in September 2026.

New look, new food

Our food is now cooked on site by Olive Dining. The children are absolutely loving the new menu and the new look lunch hall.

At Deptford Park, lunchtime is much more than a break in the school day. It is an important opportunity for children to relax, recharge and connect with their friends. A calm, fun and social lunchtime helps children return to the classroom feeling refreshed, happy and ready to learn.
