School Council
Welcome to our School Council page.
Our School Council is made up of children from Key Stage 2.
In September, children were given the opportunity to run for School Council. Candidates wrote speeches to address their classes. Each class had a democratic vote, after hustings, to elect two School Councilors to represent them.
In our first meeting, Year 5 and 6 children had the opportunity to put themselves forward for our key roles: Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.
The following children were elected, and posters put up around the school
As a School Council, we meet every other Thursday afternoon. Our Chair (Ashton) and Vice Chair (Kashawn) usually meet to set an agenda for our meetings. Sometimes we meet in sub-committees, so that we can get more projects done over the half term. Our secretary, Eisy, takes minutes and these are displayed between our School Council Display Boards so that children and staff can read them.
The School Councillors feedback to their classes, and regularly ask for suggestions and ideas about how to improve our School.
Our School Council Progress Board tells everyone what we are doing, who is leading the project and how long it will take, as well as celebrating our achievements and outlining requests we’ve had that we can’t fulfil.
The school council met to discuss ideas for upcoming events and how we can celebrate them in school. #schoolcouncil #represent #childrensvoice
